Forbidden City


The Forbidden City is an imperial palace complex in the heart of Beijing. It was called the Forbidden City because most people could not enter the complex, and only the emperor could enter any section that he wanted. Great Wall of China


The Great wall of China is one of the largest construction projects ever done, spanning over 13,000 miles. It was built to protect China's northern border from invaders. The wall consists of multiple walls made at different times, with some parts rebuilt. For more information, click here.

Tiananmen


Tiananmen Square is a city square in the middle of Beijing. Named after Tiananmen, the Gate of Heavenly peace, which separates the square from the Forbidden City. The square hosts some important historic buildings, including the National Museum of China and the Great Hall of the People. It is known for the 1989 protests which led to the Tiananmen Square Massacre.
